We are now in the heart of Winter whereby we are enjoying the luxuries of heaters, thick woolly blankets, hot beverages, home-cooked meals and sweet baked treats. There is just simply no need to spend too much time in the outdoors, exposed to the piercing wind and finger biting temperatures. And although we do our utmost best to keep out of the cold, I always believed that Winter brought out the best in fashion and style! Something about the cold weather motivates people to up their style game, all while keeping warm and snug. Coats are one of those timeless pieces that cater to every style as they are perfect for layering, especially during this time when we are not all preparing for a summer body! This week, I embraced the cold with the Single-Breasted Melton Coat which has a detachable belt which can be tied to create a stylish silhouette. Melton coats are great for achieving an effortless style and luxury, without the compromise of comfort. And… I paired this with my Ribbed Bodycon Dress and Chelsea Boots.

Adorning a slim fit bodycon dress is perfect for when you want to respectfully show-off your curves, and women often at times love the look of a bodycon dress, but do not feel confident to wear one, for the obvious and relatable reasons. With my experience of window-shopping and comparing garments from different stores, my first recommendation is to target shops that are well known to stock garments of all sizes. We all know the infamous stores that only cater to petite women, and they often claim to have a wider range of sizes, but upon fitting their items, we find this to be less than true. Stores that advertise and pride their selves with clothing of all sizes, tend to also stock garments of better quality. And although the price tag will be on the expensive side, their item is more likely to fit you well.

Secondly, the key to wearing bodycon dresses is finding a well-fitted bodycon that sits well on your body. If you feel like you are being vacuumed into a toothpaste tube, then leave that dress alone, and confidently walk out that shop as they do not meet your requirements. Take time to look around different stores, taking note of the fabrics and colours that you prefer. And when fitting on the dresses, make sure that you can comfortably breathe and sit without fear of a wardrobe malfunction. Some women opt to purchase a bigger size, and that may work for them. However, if a larger size looks clumsy, then keep searching for a dress that leaves some room for movement and breathability. And my final tip, is to consider wearing tights underneath. Tights do a good job of reducing the visibility of underwear and add toward creating a stylish silhouette through the gentle hugging of the thighs. I believe that a well-fitted bodycon can be worn with a tight instead of shapewear, which is why it is important to only spend your money on a good quality item.
And the best thing about this outfit, is that it is an easy wear. The coat layered on top of the bodycon dress needs no additional styling and leave you feeling good. And if you are feeling extra, you can add an accessory or two to finish off the look. Rather take time to find the pieces you want in your wardrobe for the long-term, than settling for below average items that do not serve you well in the short-term.

I love the reassurance and advice on looking for a store that caters your size needs. Also we should move away from this thing as women that we do where we settle for clothes we don't feel comfortable in. At the same time we shouldn't be so insecure that we deprive ourselves of clothes that we desire to wear that might fit us perfect, but we fear that our curves will show.
