Pleats were once a symbol of wealth and power, only worn by the upper class and people of authority. It required a tailor to spend hours designing the creases; and after it was worn and washed, the process was repeated. Then, the pleated skirt became the go-to garment for elderly women everywhere! In our grandparents’ and parents’ generation, the Check Wool Fabric and Pleated skirt was a hitmaker. And now, our current generation of women are styling out what was once prestige. In this temperamental Spring weather, I have found it easy to deal with the changing conditions by wearing a long skirt. This time, I pared it with my Black Chelsea Boots, Black Long-Sleeve, and Black Leather Jacket, in which I felt comfortable, yet stylish enough to steal a few looks on the streets. I guess the ‘bougie ness’ of the past are ingrained in my creased threads.
Anyway, today’s post is extra special and it’s not because of the outfit. A few months ago, I felt that the blog needed a name more suitable of what it represents and its inspiration. I liked that the name "Granadilla by akoss" was something unique, but it did not feel quite right. After thinking about it, doing my google searches, and checking that the new name isn’t affiliated with anything shady, I finally became certain of what the new name was going to be. But I took forever to click the ‘Publish’ button. But when I am dissatisfied with something, it lives rent free in my mind until I do something about it. Sooooo…I would like to re-introduce you to my blog The Sunday Affair: The Style Narration. Here’s to another step in the growth of the blog!
