Recently, a close friend and I had a humorous and lively conversation over a popular dating show, and the outfits worn by the participants. Between describing our favourite fits and picking a part the outfits we thought were not good enough, we hilariously dished out on what we thought were outfits that would be an instant turn off. From the conversation, we realised the misguided belief many hold that mixing brand labels and luxury garments is an indication of style. And boy…some have gotten it completely wrong! Granted, luxury pieces can make or finish an outfit, but this is only so when pairing it well. What is more shocking is that there are less people willing to admit that their voguish or dapper outfit was bought from an affordable clothing store. Take for instance this week’s outfit where I wore Ankle Slouch Boots with a low heel which could easily be copped from a vintage store. I simply cuffed the hem of my Jeans, creating a subtle break allowing a sliver of skin to peek through between the ankle boots and the denim. And paired with a Black Long Sleeve with a keyhole detail, this small tweak adds an effortless appeal to the entire ensemble, blending comfy casual with a touch of elegance.
