We have been exploring everyday looks for running errands, day out with friends, and outfits suitable for your 9 to 5. However today, I decided to do something a little different- step onto the side lane and see what is happening outside of my little corner of life and start a series of posts called ‘Closet Chronicles’. This will be a series whereby I showcase the outfits I adore, what I would wear even though I don’t own it, and what I plan on getting in the future. Almost like a style hitlist tailored to my preferences and taste. And to kick off the series, I decided to begin with a clothing brand by Stella Yedia (Instagram: @stellayedia) where I came across their Mali Set in the Purple Colour Way, worn by a digital creator Frilancy Hoyle (Instagram: @frilancy). Stella Yedia is a Nigerian designer, and her Mali Set with African print is a unique outfit that has never been done before. I love that it marries traditional West African Prints with everyday garments for a modern and original outfit- any African woman would love to adorn. The glitter embellishment on the fabric adds elegance, making it the perfect choice for special occasions. And...the Mali Set is also available in the Blue Colour Way, if purple is not your vibe. Below are snapshots of the Mali Set in all its glory, from a reel showing off the multiple ways of paring the pieces.

The first outfit is the full Mali Set worn with Pink Heels and a Black Purse. Both ends of the shirt are semi-tucked into the mini skirt, creating a crop-top like outfit. This is perfect for showing off your proportions when wearing an oversized top.

Similar to the previous look, one half of the shirt is semi-tucked in but this time the outfit is worn with sheer stockings - paired with black heels and a hand-held silver purse.

The third look pairs the Mali Skirt with a white shoulder detail top, perfect for semi-formal occasions.

And finally, the Mali Shirt is worn with a pair of ripped jeans and heels, for a look that is perfect for a lunch date out. I love the versatility of the Mali Set pieces and even more that it was created by an African designer. Definitely my favourite looks for this week!

Yours stylishly,

akoss...
